Staff Transitions

In July 2023, AUPresses welcomed two new staff members: McKenzi Thi Murphy and Trevor Nau

Murphy joined AUPresses in the new role of Membership Coordinator. Murphy provides administrative support for membership processes and records, including support for the Board of Directors and committee structure, as well expanding the Association’s UP Commons community management. A graduate of Stony Brook University, she holds a Masters of Publishing from New York University and has held editorial internships with Kirkus Reviews and the Penguin Classics division of Penguin Random House.

Nau joined AUPresses as Administrative Coordinator. He supports financial operations as well as webinar and Annual Meeting administration, and member projects such as the annual Book, Jacket, and Journal Show and the University Press Books for Public and Secondary School Libraries bibliography. A graduate of the University of Oregon, he holds a Masters in Medieval Studies from Fordham University and has served as an editorial assistant at Renaissance Quarterly.

Also in 2023, Alexis Fagan was promoted to Events Manager. The Association’s Virtual Events Coordinator since spring 2022, she continues to facilitate the development and delivery of AUPresses webinars, hangouts, and virtual and in-person Annual Meetings. Previously, she served as program coordinator for events at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. Additionally, Kate Kolendo was named Community Development and Communications Manager, reflecting her increased responsibilities for UP Commons, partnership and cooperative programs, and membership and marketing communications. She joined AUPresses as Communications Program Manager in 2018, and had been Membership and Program Communication Manager since 2021.
