The Association of University Presses (AUPresses), the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), and the Library Publishing Coalition (LPC) are laying the groundwork for a new University-Based Publishing Futures effort, mapping out shared goals as a foundation for future collaborative work.
AUPresses continues to work with the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) and the Association of Learned Society Publishers (ALPSP) as part of the Joint Task Force on Career Progression, aiming to create a scholarly publishing position reference directory that charts position descriptions and career paths across the industry.
The completed 5-year TOME pilot, a project of ARL, the Association of American Universities (AAU), and AUPresses, published a final stakeholders report this program year. This report surveyed authors, funders, and publishers on their experiences—both successes and challenges—with the piloted Open Access book funding model. The partner organizations are using this report to further discussions of TOME’s future.
